Two Generations, One Calling

In the weeks following the ABBA Elijah-Elisha Conference, testimonies have continued to come in from pastors and young leaders across Peru. Though each participant returned home with their own experiences and convictions, a common thread has emerged: God is calling both generations into a deeper relationship with Him and a shared commitment to His Kingdom.

For many, this began with personal renewal. Pastors and young leaders alike reflected on seasons of weariness, discouragement, and trying to serve through their own strength. Throughout the conference, they were reminded that faithful service must first flow from communion with God and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.

But their testimonies also reveal a vision extending beyond themselves. Berioska, one of the young leaders, shared, “Being united as one family in Christ gives me even more reason to continue fighting the good fight, knowing that we are not alone, but that we walk together and have the same Father and the same purpose.”

From the Elijah generation, Pastor Hilda similarly reflected, “The Lord confronted me with the battle to fight for our next generation… Seeing the Elishas who have committed themselves to fight this battle, my heart overflows with gratitude to our Abba Father.”

These convictions are already being carried home. Participants shared commitments to strengthen youth ministries, practice and teach daily devotionals, disciple younger believers, and equip others to serve. Pastor Cipriano, for example, returned determined to share what he learned with his church and region “with the support of my Elishas.”

One generation is being reminded to faithfully pass on what God has entrusted to them, while another is being prepared not only to receive it, but to pass it on again. May the Holy Spirit continue joining these generations together with one purpose and one prayer, “Your Kingdom Come!”
