From Hearing to Seeing: A Testimony from Peru
At HanHee Kim World Mission Center, we’re always hearing from our partner churches about the amazing ways that God is working in the lives of children and communities throughout the world. There is an undeniable move of the Holy Spirit all around as we receive reports of fruitful ministries and renewed commitments to the Lord. But not only do we praise God for the work He is doing abroad, we also give Him thanks for the lives that are being changed right here in Denver. Timothy, one of our HHK volunteers, had the opportunity to attend a CEJA youth leadership training conference last month in Lima, Peru and came back invigorated with a reaffirmed calling from the Lord.
He recounts how even as someone closely associated with HHK as an organization, “there are still times where I feel out of place… Every time ABBA was mentioned, I felt a mixture of both exclusion and apathy towards the ministry.”
But praise God that the story doesn’t end there. “That all changed during this eight day trip to Peru, where I got to see first hand the sowing and the harvesting that is being done through this humble ministry… The Holy Spirit opened my eyes and my heart not just to see the video and the pictures, but His work… The whole experience was surreal and I had felt like I had become a small part of the long history of ABBA, something that had seemed so distant and unrelated to my life.”
Upon his return, Timothy confesses, “I was left with and still have a strong conviction to lay my life down for the Kingdom, wherever God calls me to… Being on the field joined my heart to the cause that I once knew only from announcements and videos… This trip served as a turning point for my calling in the Lord, and I pray that His Kingdom will continue to be manifested in my life, in Peru, and to the ends of the Earth.”
Testimonies like Timothy’s remind us why HHK exists. In humble obedience to the Lord our God and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we seek to proclaim the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. Hallelujah!
