CHILDREN OF JESUS
Riding on the Wind of the Holy Spirit
It has already been over ten years since God called us to Ecuador. The place He called us was a hideout for drug criminals—a place everyone avoided and refused to go. Naturally, no mission organizations are working there. Perhaps because of that, we often felt heavy-hearted and discouraged, as we hadn’t seen much visible fruit over the years.
Last summer, we invited young people from Ecuador to the Abba Elishas conference for pastors’ children held in Peru. There, the Holy Spirit powerfully descended upon them. We could clearly see the fire of the Spirit burning within their hearts.
Then, at the end of last month, something amazing happened. We received word that pastors from that region and our young people held an all-night prayer meeting right on the streets. What touched us even more was that these pastors, who have almost nothing, voluntarily gave offerings and organized the gathering themselves.
We can truly feel that the wind of the Holy Spirit is blowing. Just as the Spirit came upon the upper room in the book of Acts like a mighty rushing wind, we pray that He would come upon the regions of Duran and Esperanza—that all the drug gang members would repent, be transformed, and that the entire community would be reached with the Gospel.
Please pray for the seven young people who, like the early deacons in Acts 6, are filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom—to be used by God mightily. And pray that countless young people in this region will be born again by the Spirit, becoming brave soldiers of faith for the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
