CHILDREN OF JESUS
Making No Sense

He was born into an extreme Hindu family. He worshipped and bowed down to all sorts of idols and lived in complete darkness until his youth. One day he was introduced to Jesus by his coworker and he gave his life to Him. As he shared his heart and testimony to his family and decision to receive baptism, he was expelled from his house and family that same night. He received his comfort and strength only through the living word of God. Later on in life, he married a Jesus loving sister. But, of course, none of his family members attended his wedding.
The couple realized the God’s calling into ministry and enrolled into the “Amazing Grace Bible College.” Meanwhile, Lord blessed them with three beautiful children. But for some reason, all of their three children died of unknown causes. It tore their hearts and marriage apart. His wife fell into deep depression and tried to commit suicide several times.
That’s when they were introduced to the COJ ministry. This is the story of pastor Vijay Paul of India that we introduced to last spring. By God’s grace, his wife was completely healed of her depression, and they even had a new baby. With the outpouring love and support of our sponsors, we were in the process of building their new church building, as well as a home and even a water well. When the fresh well water sprung out of the ground last summer, pastor Vijay fell on his knees and praised the Lord with all of his heart and strength.
This was only a few months ago. But suddenly, last September 17, pastor Vijay Paul was called home. It really doesn’t make any sense. But we know that our God is working all things together for good. Please continue to pray for his wife, Hanna, and their 4 month old son. And also pray for the tribal village of Gummani Vanni Parem where pastor Vijay so passionately wanted to share the gospel of Jesus. Even though it is hard comprehend what has just happen, we know we will meet pastor Vijay again, in His glory, with big smiles on our faces!
UPDATE 11/2025: At the end of October, the COJ India family gathered for the memorial service(top) of our dear brother, Vijaya Paul. It was a deeply moving time of remembrance for a man who faithfully served the Lord and dedicated his life to reaching others with the Gospel. Though his passing has left a great void, we praise God that his legacy will continue through his wife, Hannah, and their 4-month-old son, who have chosen to carry on the ministry alongside Pastor Koti Babu, Vijaya’s cousin.
Just last week, Pastor Koti Babu(bottom) was anointed to continue leading this work. His journey of faith is a testimony of God’s grace—once a young man in 10th grade who attended church with his mother but resisted the Gospel, he later encountered the Lord in a powerful way. After years of struggle, he surrendered his life to Christ and was baptized in 2012. Today, he serves passionately, determined to bring many more souls to Jesus.
Please continue to pray for Hannah, her son, and Pastor Koti Babu as they move forward in faith, trusting that God will use their lives to bring light and hope to many in India.
