Blessing of Giving

This summer, we have been experiencing unusual weather patterns, with temperatures reaching record highs globally. As Christians, we recognize that these signs have been predicted in the Bible as part of the end times. Although we do not know what the future holds or even what tomorrow will bring, we strive to continue being channels of God’s blessings while the opportunity is present, for God promises that “those who give to the poor will lack nothing.” As we brainstormed gift ideas for our COJ children this winter, we decided to include not only soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shampoo but also colorful bath towels for each child in each gift bag. Additionally. in the colder regions of Peru (Lima, Cusco, and Huancayo), we provided body lotion and sweatshirts to help them stay warm. In the warmer regions (Satipo, Iquitos, and Piura), we distributed bug repellents and t-shirts to help them stay cool. All of the children have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors, but most importantly, they thank our awesome God for providing for their needs.

After 30 Years…

What is mission? We often asked ourselves this question after serving in the mission field for over 30 years. The answer we reached was somewhat unorthodox. Mission is about completing a full and perfect circle. We find these words in Romans 11:36: “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” All things come from our God, and all things return to Him. It is a complete and perfect circle. Rain comes down from above, and vapor returns to the ocean. As the earth rotates, the seasons change-spring turns to summer, fall, and winter, and then returns to spring once again. God’s creation of the entire universe deals with circles, not triangles or rectangles. Mission is about giving all, not just part. But the recipient must become a giver one day in order to complete the principle of the perfect circle. God has used us to serve thousands of children, young people, pastors, and churches. Our prayer from the beginning has been for these churches and nations to transition from being receivers to becoming givers one day. One particular church in the jungles of Peru exemplifies this transformation: Strong Fortress Church in Satipo, Peru. This spring, God opened a new door for us to share the gospel. There is a region called Pangoa, consisting of 127 tribal villages, that had not yet heard the gospel. Our mission team was blessed to visit this area last week. Something amazing happened: Pastor Reyes and 12 selected youth from Strong Fortress Church were able to join our mission team to serve the children of Pangoa. This marked the first fruits of completing the circle after all these 30 years. We pray that Strong Fortress Church will continue this mission work in Pangoa. Will you please join us in praying that not only Strong Fortress Church but all the churches that have received your support and love will now be transformed into giving churches so that there will be a harvest of 30, 60, 100-fold for His kingdom? We cannot thank you enough for your faithful support in making the complete circle of His love to all nations and peoples. God bless you!

It Has Begun!

The ABBA youth rallies have begun across Peru, and this year’s theme is “Heal our Hearts, Lord” (Psalms 147:3). In May and June, we witnessed miracles as the Lord touched and healed the hearts of pastors and leaders. Now, we invite you to join us in prayer for the conferences taking place in various regions of Peru this month: May each participant and fellow servant of the Abba Conference experience a personal and healing encounter with God, Abba Father. May God protect each one during their journey and the conference from all danger, temptation, and trial. May everyone leave the Conference filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit and committed to proclaiming the gospel of Christ. May the Holy Spirit take control of every detail of the Conference: Registration, Prayer, Praise, Preaching, Workshops, Ministry, Service, Order, Security, Evaluation, and more. May the power of our Abba Father manifest for His glory, honor, and praise.

Power of God’s Word!

Isaac Yoshiro, a young man from Tarapoto, Peru, grew up in a Christian family and attended church regularly. Despite his upbringing, spiritual matters often took a backseat in his life. It wasn’t until the pandemic struck and he lost his father to COVID-19 that Yoshiro found himself deeply discouraged and searching for meaning. His turning point came at an ABBA Peru youth conference, where Yoshiro experienced a divine encounter that forever changed his life. God touched his heart, revealing a profound purpose for him. This spiritual awakening ignited a newfound earnestness in Yoshiro to seek God and trust Him completely. Recognizing the depth of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, Yoshiro realized he needed a genuine relationship with Him. Determined to transform his life, Yoshiro committed to reading the entire Bible and seeking God continually. Rediscovering the “Encounter with Abba Father” (ECAP) devotional, which had been collecting dust on a shelf, he found the guidance he needed. Embracing daily devotionals with wholehearted dedication, he embarked on a journey to deepen his communion with God. This renewed dedication to God’s Word and daily prayer transformed Yoshiro’s life. Prioritizing the kingdom of God over worldly pursuits, his spiritual growth and commitment bore fruit. He was accepted into the national university, an achievement reserved for the top one percent of elite students. Additionally, he earned a spot in the prestigious Riverside Tree scholarship program of COJ International. Yoshiro’s ultimate desire is to heal both the physically and spiritually sick. Through his studies in Human Medicine, he hopes to share the gospel with those who feel all is lost, even in their final moments. His story is a powerful testament to the transformative power of faith and the incredible plans God has for those who seek Him. Praise God for transforming Isaac Yoshiro’s life and guiding him towards a path of faith and service. Hallelujah to our awesome ABBA Father for His wondrous works and boundless grace!
