EAGLE’S NEST
SUPPORT MINISTRY FOR FAMILIES IN NEED
Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself where she may lay her young,
a place near your altar O Lord Almighty.
Psalm 84:3
A Roof Over Their Heads
The Eagle’s Nest ministry began in 2002 with a young boy named Sergio, who lived with his mother and four siblings in Pachacutec, Peru. Though his family faced extreme poverty, Sergio faithfully cared for his siblings and brought many of his friends to Christ.
During a summer mission trip, HHK WMC missionaries visited Sergio’s home and discovered that his family was living in a fragile shelter made of plastic sheets without a proper roof. Sergio’s mother, Bertha, shared her hope that her children might one day have a safe place to stay warm during cold nights and protected during heavy rains. Moved by her story, the team gathered support to build the family a wooden home before the next mission trip concluded.
Although Bertha passed away in 2007, Sergio and his siblings continued living in that home and receiving monthly assistance. What began as a response to one family’s need grew into the Eagle’s Nest ministry.
In its early years, Eagle’s Nest focused primarily on building homes for families without shelter. Today, the ministry has expanded to provide broader livelihood support for individuals and families facing significant financial hardship. Through monthly assistance, Eagle’s Nest helps cover essential living expenses, prevent the loss of housing or property, and provide stability during vulnerable seasons.
Like a nest that offers protection and shelter, this ministry seeks to provide covering and care so that children, families, and ministry leaders may continue forward with dignity, faith, and hope.
