OUR BEGINNING

Hanhee Kim World Mission Center (HHK WMC) was founded in 1993 in memory of Mrs. Han Hee Kim, a pastor’s wife and faithful woman of God who dedicated her life to sharing the Gospel with everyone she encountered.

She was leading a Bible study in August of 1990 when she collapsed suddenly and passed away 33 days later. Her life was short, but her sacrificial love and service had touched many in powerful and lasting ways. After her death, a neighbor, Dr. Hovland, gave a mission offering of $50 in her memory. Soon, many friends and church members followed in giving in honor of her greatest passion: to help poor and neglected children all over the world.

Offerings kept pouring in for three years, and eventually led to the establishment of HHK WMC in September of 1993. HHK WMC first started sponsoring churches in need in South Korea and in the United States. In 1995, HHK WMC began the Children of Jesus (COJ) ministry with 35 children in need in the Dominican Republic. It did not stop there.

When COJ became self-sufficient in the Dominican Republic, HHK WMC shifted its focus to Peru and Costa Rica. The needs in these areas led to the formation of four additional ministries: Eagle’s Nest (2002) to build homes for families, Father’s House (2005) to build church buildings, Raven of Love (2007) to support pastors’ families, and Riverside Tree (2009) to provide higher education scholarships. HHK WMC believes it is the heart of the Father that all may become “children of Jesus.” HHK WMC has remained faithful to the call of evangelism since its foundation, focusing on delivering the Good News of salvation wherever God calls.
